SnugiWrap!!

Thursday, 15 November 2012

After all the drama and me being extra fussy about double buggies/buggy boards I have decided to use a baby carrier with my new born and have my son use a stroller.

I have purchased a Snugiwrap and absolutely LOVE it! It cost £18 and so far is worth every penny!!

Saturday Fun!!

Saturday, 10 November 2012

Today Leighton practiced his colours and had lots of fun painting paper bowls in Red, Green, Blue & Yellow these are going to be used for our preject tomorow where we will be sorting colours!

We also had a visit from a friend of mine who brought Skyla-Grace her 1st dolly!!
Then Leighton enjoyed a Lion Dinner lol Made out of Pasta, Tuna, Mixed Peppers, Tomatoes & Cheese
I then decided that we had to much spaghetti sitting in the cupboard so I cooked some up and put it into Leightons bath along with some green food colouring!! Monster bath!!! Leighton then decided he wanted the saucepan & colander in the bath so he could move the pasta between each bowls! Then he decided a spoon was needed to do some mixing! This bath was a hit!!

Bath Time Fun!!

Friday, 9 November 2012

To make Bath Time that little more fun we decided to do some painting in the bath using a mix of shaving foam and food colouring (It does not stain the skin or the bath!)

Leighton absolutely loved painting the bath and all up the tiles!

I think Daddy had fun too!!

It was so easy to clean off Leighton and the bath I simply just showered everything down, no scrubbing involved! We will definately be doing this activity again and using the same idea to learn how to write the Alphabet & Numbers in the future aswell as mixing colours!

Skyla-Grace Louise Westwood

Wednesday, 7 November 2012

Skyla-Grace Louise Westwood was born at only 36 weeks old on Thursday 1st November 2012 at 3:12am weighing a tiny 5lb14oz

Altho I was very blessed to be carrying a child I didnt have a very easy pregnancy, I suffered from pre-eclampsia. During the night of the 24th October I was having very sore cramps just under my bump so decided to research on Google as to what these cramps could be, from what I had read alot of people were experiencing the same as me and had been told it was just stretching/growing pains so altho I was hurting quite abit I talked myself into thinking I was just being a whimp and not to worry. That morning I woke up feeling very wet so in a panic I woke Kane telling him I thought my waters had broke but when we looked under the cover there was no water just fresh red blood and my bump had gone from being solid to now feeling like jelly. I was convinced I had lost our baby on phoning the delivery suite they told me to hurry straight in. I cried with heartbreak the whole journey to the hospital. When I arrived they hooked me up to a montior and there it was.... a heartbeat! Perfect!!!

So why the bleeding??? No idea! Still to this day no one is able to provide any answers.

I had a swab taken that came back positive that I will be going into labour within the next 24-48hrs! There was a mixture of neves and excitement between me and Kane, we couldnt wait to meet our baby and find out the sex but we was also worried how early the baby was. I was given steroid injections to help the babies lungs if it was to arrive early.

I stayed over in hospital and woke again the next day covered in blood again! We had an ultrasound to check the babies growth. The baby was growing well but didnt have much water around it. This didnt seem to bother the Midwifes altho I had read some scary stories about leaving the hospital with broken waters and getting infections. As the baby seemed fine the hospital decided that it was okay for me to leave!! So much for the Hormone swab test that showed I was going to go into labour.

I spent a couple of days at home resting and then spent an evening cramping and constantly going to the toilet with the poos and sickness so called the hospital and was asked to go back in. I was put on a drip as I was dehydrated. After a couple of nights in hospital they decided to induce me. I had the 1st pill inserted and started getting really bad cramping again in the same region as I did before the bleeding. The cramps came regularly, so regular that I could time them like you could contractions. I was told they were nothing to be concerned about and wasnt contractions. I was due to have the 2nd pill inserted 6hrs later but the "delivery suite was closed" Ive never heard anything so ridiculous in my life! They had closed the delivery suite as it was too busy! So people who were at home in labour were asked to drive to a hospital 1hr30mins away! I was eventually given my 2nd pill a day after these cramps were getting worse! The midwife that was now on duty kept telling me they were just "niggles" those "niggles" were bloody painfull!! at midnight those "niggles" were so bad I was shouting in pain, the midwife gave me paracetamol to help (paracetamol hardly helps a headache let alone the pain I was in!) A new midwife came on her shift and advised me that I must be in labour! Altho they wasnt tightenings like contractions. They were cramps under my bump and in my back. She did an internal examination and I was 4cm dilated. I kept feeling the need to push but was told that I should wait as the delivery suite was still closed!! The paracetamol was no use and the pain was getting worse. Eventually at around 2.30am I was taken onto the delivery suite and given gas and air and was still being told not to push and to wait until a midwife was free to break my waters. I ignored advice and pushed! My waters broke :-D
Then within the next push the head was out and another huge push and our baby GIRL was born! (There was hardly any umbillical cord!!) Kane was in tears and I was still a little confused it had happened so quickly and already overdosed on gas and air!
I stared at her for the next 4hrs (as I was just left in my blood waiting for someone to be available to give me some stictches!) When the Dr finally arrived to do my stitches it was all so rushed and the pain relief didnt work, I felt every stitch going in it was awful. just when I thought all the pain was over :(

She was sooooo worth every second of pain and I would go thru it all again over and over for her.

I was discharged that evening at 10pm (after alot of agro I must admit)

Finally home with our little princess! Welcome to the world Beautiful!!

Leighton's 2nd Birthday

On 22nd October my little man became another year older! Happy Birthday Darling!!

We hired out a small hall and threw a little In The Night Garden themed party for Leighton and his friends from daycare! The toddlers had lots of fun and their faces were a picture when Iggle Piggle walked in!!

Holiday 2012

Thought I would write about our family Holiday as I just havn't had the time until now.

At the end of September we went for a long weekend break to Hoseasons in Heacham and had an excellent time! Leighton loved every minute of the holiday, especially getting on the dance floor in the evening to bust some moves with Spraky & Sparkles and spalshing in the pool "Big Bath" as Leighton called it.

Here are a few pics!

I have only gone and done it again : (

I have once again started a blog and neglected it! I am officialy pants at this!

So here is an update of whats been going on since I last posted:

I am now 27 weeks pregnant and VERY fat! I cannot seem to stop eating! I didnt have this with my 1st pregnancy so am making up for it now. ( I will try and post a pic 2nite if I can get the Other Half to take a photo)

I am soooo achy and suffering from "Foof Daggers!" pains in the right side of my private bits, I have no idea what this is btu have been told its common. It makes me walk like a penguin : (

Update on the buggy: lol oh dear.... I sold the Buzz and brought a Cosatto Mobi 3in1, this buggy was really nice but was even bigger than the Buzz so I sold that too! I now have a Petite Star Zia for Leighton and am looking to buy just the Buzz frame to use with the Maxi Cosi Car Seat for the baby. I am such a nightmare!

I have been doing loads of shopping lately and have now sorted most of Bumps stuff and have Leigthons birthday presents sorted (His Bday is on the 22nd October)

We have also booked a holiday!! I decided we needed a getaway to relax and thought it would be nice to go just before Leightons Birthday as a treat for him. I dont think I will have the energy to throw him a party. Due to not being able to fly we just going to have 4 nights at a Hoseasons Caravan Park not far from our local hospital (Not wanting to take much of a risk lol) So were really looking forward to that!

I'm sitting here with my feet on the Coffee Table with a Coffee in my new PJs which are sooooo comfy! They were under a tenner from Primark and are nice and stretchy to fit over my bump : ) Bargain!
The boys have already left for their day and im going to have to get ready for another day of work at the Town Council...... bring on the Maternity Leave!

Will post again this evening.... I promise : )

Lots of love Me & Bump xxxx

The Book I'm Reading Now...

Wednesday, 27 June 2012

At the moment i'm reading "Tess Daly - The Baby Diaries"

Really enjoying it so far, have even struggled put this one down. Tess talks about both her pregnancies and offers her own advice on Pregancy/Baby Issues. Its nice to know that no matter how much money u have or what status u have us women all still go thru the same thing!

This book retails at £14.99

Double Dilemma!

Heeeelllloooooo :-)

Who would have ever thought sorting out how we will transport the little ones when the baby arrives would be such hard work! Or am I just TOO fussy??

The Original Plan: Newborn in the buggy and by the time he/she is here Leighton would be fine for walking long journeys as he will be 25months. Then I started thinking more into this and thought maybe just having hope he will be okay 4 long journeys isnt something to rely on!

Plan #2: Get a Double Buggy! That sounded easy enough but then when shopping for a Double Buggy there was too much of a variety and all different!! Did I want 3 wheels or 4? Did I want the little ones sitting next to each other or 1 in front of the other? Did I want the newborn parent facing? The things I became certain on is that I wanted the baby facing me and wanted the baby in a carseat so it would be easy to take him/her up and down the stairs without disturbing her (We live in a flat)
I decided the best thing to do would be to take a trip to Kiddicare and have a play with all the buggies! All the buggies were 1 child sat in front of the other made me feel like I was pushing a bus! They were just tooo long for me, I hated them! The side by side ones wasnt such a good idea either as I imagined struggling to fit thru the shop doors in our old fashioned little town not to mention fitting it thru our flat door! Then I found the Phil & Teds and was advised that the toddler can sit at the bottom and then you can buy an added carseat adapter and have the baby in the carseat parent facing, so.... I brought it!! I used it with Leighton for a month to get use to it, I found it fit thru shop doors fine, and our flat door! Was nice to push too! But fitting it in our little car was a pain!!! We have a Seat Ibiza Sport, far from a family car but with the expense of a new car or a new buggy? We knew which one we HAD to choose! The buggy just had 2 go!!

Plan#3: How about a Buggy Board/Buggy Seat? I Brought a new Buggy, I had wanted the Quinny Buzz for awhile so decided to give it a go! Its a little heavy but I really like it! Happy about something at last! And I really liked the idea the baby would just be in the Carseat that would clip onto the chassis, so we would only need space in the boot for the chassis! Perfect! I decided to get a buggy seat instead of a buggy board bcoz I wouldnt want to be standing with my little legs on one of Mummies shopping trips if I had the choice! So I brought the Buggy Seat (Litaf Seat to Go) and attached it to the Buzz and guess what??.... I HATED it!! It felt so chunky and the wheels wasnt the easier to manouvre, it also looked cheap and tacky! It HAD to go!!

Im running out of options now!!

Plan #4: I have now decided that Leighton will use the Buzz and I will carry the newborn in a sling! Have done abit of research and have found a lady locally who makes them (all safety tested and graded etc) and they have lots of fabric designs to choose from! Sounds great to me! Im going to be paying this lady a visit in the near future. SURELY this is the way forward?? Watch this space ;-)

Would love to hear some recommendations and what u guys all use?

Love 2 u all xxxxx
